Spooler - Dual Unit (DOT)
Sonic Spooling has immediate openings for DOT – Dual Spoolers located in Odessa, Texas.
A Spooler will be responsible for pulling, installing, and hauling ESP power cable within DOT regulations, troubleshooting and/or repairing ESP power cable. You will be responsible for supporting and following instructions of a service technician while on work sites while maintaining DOT company vehicle. Responsibilities
Gather tools and supplies to be used at worksite appropriate for job to be performed
Load and transport spooling cable to and from job sites: unload and position appropriately
Install bands during installation
Assist Field Service Technician and rig hands in the pulling and installation of submersible equipment
Perform routine preventive maintenance on company vehicle and spooling trailer and maintain required logs completely and accurately to comply with DOT regulation
Requirements
Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment
Maintain all required safety and professional certifications
Provide customer with written reports, does necessary paperwork for invoicing, equipment identification and tracking, inventory control, payroll and expense money
Ensure maintenance and repairs are made to company vehicle
Maintain company vehicle with necessary tools and equipment to perform service jobs
Adhere to DOT regulations
Properly complete a job safety analysis (JSA) form and to conduct prejob safety meetings
Responsible for routine maintenance, inspection, and appearance of assigned company vehicle
Understand and comply with all client safety rules and company policies
Complete all documentation required to perform duties
Maintains performs and supervised the general upkeep of the hand and service tools
Understand and comply with all client safety rules and company policies
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
Works with minimal supervision
Perform various duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
Qualifications
1+ years pulling unit or spooling experience preferred
Related experience in the field of Wellhead installation, servicing and maintenance
Ability to lift 100 lbs with no restrictions
Excellent communication skills required - written & verbal
Strong operational and maintenance knowledge
Mechanical aptitude
Knowledge and Skills Required
Good driving record
Basic computer skills
High school diploma or GED preferred
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations
Be willing and able to work away from home for extended periods of time
Must be available for 24 hours on call duty
